This website was started as a result of a joke between myself and one of my students.
During one of our lessons on the Radif of Persian music, he jokingly asked,
“Is there a website like maqamworld.com for dastgah?
If not… maybe you should make one.”
A couple days later and here we are.
On this site you will see a breakdown of the modal and rhythmical structures used in Persian music or Iranian music.
The plan is to bring together a group of collaborators and contributors to make this website as rich as possible.
